A-Nord direct current connection

Hölscher Wasserbau is responsible for groundwater management for the A-Nord direct current connection by transmission system operator Amprion, enabling the safe installation of underground cables. This “lifeline of the energy transition” delivers green energy from northern Germany to the west and south.

Floodgate Hooksiel

For the refurbishment of the Hooksiel lock, Hölscher installed a temporary pumping station to drain the Hooksmeer. During the several months of construction work on the lock system, the lock chamber was dewatered and a redundant pumping system was installed to regulate the water level reliably and ensure drainage towards the North Sea.

Sternstraße Lingen

A new micro-apartment complex with an underground car park is being developed on Sternstraße in Lingen, the largest city in the Emsland region. Hölscher is responsible for the complete groundwater management for the construction project under challenging hydrogeological conditions.

Hotel and residential complex at Lake Tegernsee

A new development is currently under construction by Lake Tegernsee, featuring a hotel and residential complex with an underground garage, restaurant, and spa area. Hölscher Wasserbau was commissioned to manage the dewatering for the 36,000 m² excavation site.

Pumping well on Spiekeroog

A construction site on an island in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea – our team constructed a new production well on the car-free island of Spiekeroog, surrounded by picturesque dunes. A challenging project in terms of schedule, technology and logistics, with nature conservation taking top priority throughout.

Spreepark Berlin

The new Spreepark will restore a green public space to the capital, blending art, culture, and nature with the site’s unique historical legacy.

New residential development in Buxtehude

HBI Hausbau-Immobiliengesellschaft mbH is developing a modern residential area on Nina-Zober-Straße in Buxtehude that includes an underground garage for multiple apartment buildings. Hölscher is responsible for groundwater management.

Drinking water wells in Esens

We are drilling three new drinking water wells in Esens, East Frisia, near the North Sea. The new wells will replace the old ones, which we have decommissioned. This ensures the future drinking water supply for East Frisia.

Frankfurt FOUR

The large-scale Frankfurt FOUR project involves the construction of four skyscrapers with an underground garage in the heart of the banking district in Frankfurt am Main. These skyscrapers, envisioned as the "new heart of the city," will range in height from 100 to 228 meters. The buildings will also feature a shared four-story underground garage. The development will include over 600 residential units, the country's highest office floors, a hotel, and a daycare centre.

Metro Cityringen Copenhagen

The Metro Cityringen in Copenhagen is a 15.5-kilometre dual-tube tunnel system with 17 underground stations and an underground maintenance depot. It expands the Copenhagen Metro, connecting the cities of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg.

Paper and Cardboard Factory in Varel

At a cardboard and paper factory, we successfully drilled a new well under challenging space constraints – whilst production continued as normal. Thanks to precise planning, compact equipment and seamless cooperation with the client, the project was completed without a hitch and on schedule.

Stuttgart 21

As part of the construction activities for Stuttgart 21, Hölscher was responsible for the entire groundwater management of the large-scale project. Groundwater was extracted and transported via a pipeline system to the treatment plants where it was purified. To support the deeper natural mineral water sources, a large portion of the treated groundwater was reinfiltrated near the excavation sites.

2nd main line Munich

The 2nd main line represents a significant expansion of the existing S-Bahn system and involves the construction of three additional tunnel tubes, each approximately 7 kilometres long, beneath the Munich city centre.
