New residential development in Buxtehude
HBI Hausbau-Immobiliengesellschaft mbH is developing a modern residential area on Nina-Zober-Straße in Buxtehude that includes an underground garage for multiple apartment buildings. Hölscher is responsible for groundwater management.
Responsible groundwater management for new living spaces
Our role in this project includes the planning, implementation, and execution of the entire groundwater management system, as well as continuous monitoring of groundwater levels in the affected area. Hölscher also handled the complete planning of groundwater lowering, treatment, and reinfiltration. Lowering for the 5,600 m² excavation site is achieved using milled horizontal drains and piston pumps. Groundwater is extracted and treated through a groundwater purification plant.
Services and technologies used
Groundwater treatment and iron removal
150 m³/h of groundwater is extracted and treated through a groundwater purification plant. Iron is removed from the groundwater using gravel filters.
Horizontal dewatering
The groundwater is lowered for the 5,600 m² excavation using milled horizontal drains and piston pumps. Dewatering with drainage trenchers is an environmentally friendly method that minimises impact on groundwater levels.
hw-dsi reinfiltration
After treatment, 100 m³/h is reinfiltrated through our patented hw-dsi wells, with the remaining treated water discharged into a drainage system.
